When did you come on board with Gospel Colors Outreach?
November 2013

How did you come to know the Lord?
I did not grow up in a Christian home. I grew up with my grandparents and lived in their home. At times, I also lived with aunts and uncles. In my childhood and through my youth, I’ve always had trials and tribulations. Everyday, I lived frightened because as I remember, my uncles abused alcohol, and one of my uncles tried to sexually abuse me. The most vivid memory I have of my past is that fear and always being afraid.

One day, God decided to take my only 4 year old niece home to Heaven. That is when my life lost its stability. I was diagnosed with diabetes, was sick with migraines, anxiety took control of me, and my nervous system was a disaster. It got so bad that I had to see a psychologist for therapy, but it did not matter how many doctors I visited because nothing was working. I wasn’t getting better. If anything, I was getting worse.

Now, when I take a look at my past, I see all the different situations that I have endured, and I know that Jesus Christ was always by my side taking care of me. Today, I can use my past experiences as a testimony to share how wonderful and loving He is.

I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior when I was 27 years old. My best friend invited me to get to know Jesus and took me to her church. I began to spend a lot of time with her, and I also attended church on Sundays. I remember that on June 16, 2002, I was at church, and a sister in Christ asked me if I wanted to pray and receive Jesus as my Lord and Savior. I said yes! That is how God began to change my life, and since that day, my future took a different course. What I have lived with Jesus by my side is amazing, and I wouldn’t change it. To really know Jesus and to walk with him is the best thing that has ever happened to me.

What is your role at GCO?
My most important role is that of an evangelism missionary for the Lord. In my role as an evangelism missionary and the Latin American Manager I recruit churches in Spanish speaking countries or predominant latin populations, equip church leaders and trainers, go on Mission trips and evangelism outreaches, equip people to share the gospel using 5 colors and I assist in GCO administrative tasks for Spanish speaking world.

What drew you to First the Kingdom?Eli Sharing the Gospel
After accepting Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior, God put into my heart to prepare myself theologically in a Bible Institute. I wanted to be ready for whatever plans the Lord had for my life in the area of evangelism and also a better understanding of missionary work.

In 2012 I was in church when I was offered an evangelism training of the colors of the gospel.  I really liked the method and immediately wanted to learn more about how to evangelize using the 5 colors. I loved the training and the passion with the organization for evangelism with the ministry of GCO. That day I understood that as Christians we all have a mandate to evangelize. From what I’ve seen however, not everyone likes to have this obligation.  I understood that day that this was the work that God had called me to. Since that experience, I told the Lord, “Here I am, send me”. I wanted to be one of “those” types of workers. I signed up for the very next evangelism outreach because I wanted to go out and share the great love of God to “the lost”. Now I had a method I could use where the word of God was shared and not just my words. That was how I knew I was doing what God had called me to do.

What was your first mission trip/gospel experience with GCO?
January 2012 was one of the most incredible times of my life! That’s when GCO came to my church in Mexicali. I was very excited about it but at the same time I was very nervous, actually I believe my nerves got the best of me that day. I knew this was going to be my first time going to the streets to evangelize and I didn’t know what to expect that day. I asked the Holy Spirit to guide me. I remember the first time I did it. I only had to translate for one of the missionaries (Danielle Hollar). My nerves were at an all time high because I was listening to the presentation in another language and I had to translate, which taught me how to depend on the Holy Spirit. I asked that He would guide my words as well as my feet. I will never forget my eyes filled with tears when I heard the person say Yes to Christ. I knew that God had prepared the land for harvest. After that great experience I attended another evangelism outreach in Mexicali with another church and then I went with GCO to Colombia. I Love sharing with the people how much God loves them, and how He died on the cross for us. That’s something I will never get tired of saying. I owe my life to Jesus Christ and serving Him is the best work ever!

What are you most passionate about in GCO?
I love every aspect of this ministry. I love sharing the gospel, walking the streets with the goal of sharing God’s love and everything I do here.  I love every phase of my job and to contributing to the functionality of the ministry. God has given me this passion of sharing his gospel to others. For me this ministry is a great blessing to my life spiritually as much as it is personally. I sincerely love everything about this ministry. It is my passion to serve God and I know that this is where the Lord has brought me to keep this fire inside me going with the rest of GCO.

“GCO takes the message of God’s salvation to the streets to share hope for people in need of his love and grace. Experiencing hundreds of men, women and children accepting Christ is the most beautiful work God has given us with the privilege to do. Every Christian should be encouraged to learn the simple presentation and join in the work of this worthy ministry.”  -Bonita

“My daughter, Krysta, and I had the opportunity to evangelize with GCO in a park in Oceanside. We got to share the Gospel with people we didn’t know for the first time. People flocked to our table wanting to hear about who Jesus is. It was a day we will remember into eternity!” -Lara

“My constant prayer for my children is that they will take their place in this world to win their generation for Christ.  The training from the Gospel Colors class and the park outreach equipped my ten-year old daughter to do what many adults have never done — to clearly share her faith and lead someone to Christ!” -Cynthia

“So glad my daughter had the opportunity to build such confidence in sharing the good news. I love the fact that she now LOVES sharing the gospel and will do so to anyone who will listen. What a great skill to have at such a young age. Thank you.” -Jenn

“As a direct result of our partnership with GCO, New Song has been able to lead over 5,000 people to Christ in the last three years. What could be better?” -Hal Seed, Sr. Pastor, New Song Community Church 2014

“I am humbled and honored to pray for GCO, their missionaries, mission trips and most of all for the Holy Spirit’s leading in everything they do, everyone they share Christ with, and the lives that are impacted by them on a daily basis. GCO is a huge blessing to our community. If you have not been on a Mission trip with GCO, I would encourage you too. It was a life changing experience for me, I am forever changed, and will be forever grateful. Thank you Jesus for GCO, continue to richly poor out your blessings upon this wonderful ministry!” -Rufina

“Never did I imagine myself walking the streets sharing the Gospel, and never did I imagine the overwhelming joy I experienced while doing it.” -Matt
