Danielle Hollar |  Director of Operations

When did you come on board with Gospel Colors Outreach?
January 1st 2012

How did you come to know the Lord?
I did not grow up in a Christian home. I faced many trials and tribulations as a child because my parents struggled with alcohol and substance abuse. Anxiety and fear is what I remember most from my childhood. Looking back, I see all the ways Jesus was right there beside me, taking care of me, waiting for His perfect time for me to be accepted into His kingdom. Now, I use my life as a testimony to how wonderful and loving He is. I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior when I was 16; my friend’s father led me to the Lord. I was spending time with my friend’s family, attending church and youth group.  About six months after I had been attending church services, her father shared the Gospel with me. I remember sitting in his truck in my driveway; he gave me a Bible and asked me if I wanted to pray and receive Jesus as my Lord and Savior. After experience, God started lining up my future and revealing how I could serve Him with my life. It has been an amazing journey thus far!

What is your role at GCO?
My most important role is that of an evangelism missionary for the Lord. In this role, I train and equip believers to share the Gospel, lead and attend mission trips, recruit evangelists and much more. In addition, I am the Director of Operations on the business side of the ministry. In my administrative position, I take care of bookkeeping and other office management tasks.

What drew you to GCO?sharing1
After I accepted Jesus, the Lord put on my heart a desire to be involved in mission work. Fast forward to late 2009, my husband and I were at church and we met the founder. He was recruiting for the Gospel Colors class, and we signed up for the class offered at the beginning of 2010. I love GCO’s boldness and the genuine heart for the Gospel and for people. As Christians, these are things we are all supposed to do, but from my experience, it wasn’t something that many people felt compelled to do! I knew this was the mission work God had called me to. The Bible says in Matthew 9:37, “The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are few.” I wanted to be one of those workers. After I took the class, I signed up for the next mission trip. Knowing I could constructively share how amazing our God is with other people, and have a method that used scripture and not just my own thoughts seemed so easy and simple. I learned to treasure God’s word in my heart, to share it and be a light to people who have never heard the Gospel. I finally saw the big picture with my desire for missions; I was exactly where God wanted me to be.

What was your first mission trip/gospel experience with GCO?
It was an amazing experience!  In August 2010, I went to Ensenada, Baja California with the GCO team.  I was very nervous, but excited all the same.  It was the first time I truly relied on the Holy Spirit to lead my words and my feet.  I was brought to tears every time someone said “Yes” to Jesus.  People were so willing to trust Him, I knew God had prepared the way for us.  I was hooked after that weekend, and went on four more mission trips in a row.  I will never tire of talking with people about how much God loves them and what He did on the cross for us.  I owe Him my life and will serve Him with my life.

What are you most passionate about in GCO?
Everything! Truly, I love every aspect of this ministry. I love the trainings; the knowledge and the boldness people gain when learning God’s word is exciting. I love sharing the Gospel. I love walking the streets with a greater purpose. I love all the behind-the-scenes work that must be done as well. Helping the organization run smoothly as God wants it to is fulfilling. And, I’m not the only one in my family who loves to share the Gospel; my husband and my daughter are part of the ministry too.  It is a blessing to our family life, and I love everything about GCO!

“GCO takes the message of God’s salvation to the streets to share hope for people in need of his love and grace. Experiencing hundreds of men, women and children accepting Christ is the most beautiful work God has given us with the privilege to do. Every Christian should be encouraged to learn the simple presentation and join in the work of this worthy ministry.”  -Bonita

“My daughter, Krysta, and I had the opportunity to evangelize with GCO in a park in Oceanside. We got to share the Gospel with people we didn’t know for the first time. People flocked to our table wanting to hear about who Jesus is. It was a day we will remember into eternity!” -Lara

“My constant prayer for my children is that they will take their place in this world to win their generation for Christ.  The training from the Gospel Colors class and the park outreach equipped my ten-year old daughter to do what many adults have never done — to clearly share her faith and lead someone to Christ!” -Cynthia

“So glad my daughter had the opportunity to build such confidence in sharing the good news. I love the fact that she now LOVES sharing the gospel and will do so to anyone who will listen. What a great skill to have at such a young age. Thank you.” -Jenn

“As a direct result of our partnership with GCO, New Song has been able to lead over 5,000 people to Christ in the last three years. What could be better?” -Hal Seed, Sr. Pastor, New Song Community Church 2014

“I am humbled and honored to pray for GCO, their missionaries, mission trips and most of all for the Holy Spirit’s leading in everything they do, everyone they share Christ with, and the lives that are impacted by them on a daily basis. GCO is a huge blessing to our community. If you have not been on a Mission trip with GCO, I would encourage you too. It was a life changing experience for me, I am forever changed, and will be forever grateful. Thank you Jesus for GCO, continue to richly poor out your blessings upon this wonderful ministry!” -Rufina

“Never did I imagine myself walking the streets sharing the Gospel, and never did I imagine the overwhelming joy I experienced while doing it.” -Matt
