Alyssa Seed | Evangelism Director
When did you come on board with Gospel Colors Outreach?
In December of 2010, I graduated with my BA in Human Development with the intention of pursuing an education degree. It was at this crossroad in my life that I was invited to become the first Evangelism Missionary with Gospel Colors Outreach, then First the Kingdom Evangelism. Within a few days, I had said “yes” and resigned at a company I had worked at for two and a half years. This was the best decision I could have ever made for my future career. Today, I have a Master’s Degree in Christian Ministries with an emphasis in Children’s Ministry. I have had the privilege of starting a ministry of training children to share the Gospel. Though I did not become a traditional teacher, I am now educating children with the most important information they could ever know.
How did you come to know the Lord?
My parents are missionaries, and I grew up in Brazil. Naturally, I was exposed to the Gospel at a young age. When I was eight years old, I made a profession of faith and was baptized. Looking back, I recognize I didn’t understand the meaning of my decision at the time. It wasn’t until I was eleven years old that the message of Christ convicted me. I realized then that I needed Jesus to be my Lord and Savior. Bowing before the Lord alone in my bedroom, I invited Jesus into my life and have never doubted his power and presence since. I am grateful to the Lord for the opportunity I now have to teach and lead children of all ages of the power that the gospel can have in their lives even at such a young age.
What is your role at GCO?
As the Evangelism Director with GCO, I strive to always seek the Lord’s vision and direction for the ministry. I am responsible for developing evangelism strategies for training children to share the Gospel and I also come up with methods for leading children to Christ.
Two of my primary roles are curriculum development and leadership training. The proper curriculum is important when it comes to educating and training children in the gospel. Classes for children are much more elaborate than classes for adults; they must be fun and interactive. The children’s trainings must appeal to all their senses; they must grab their attention, and provide different activities for the varied learning styles.
In order to provide such classes at churches all over children’s ministry leaders must be trained in every church. My role is not only to develop this training, but also to recruit and train child evangelism leaders in different churches. Similarly, I develop teams which evangelize and disciple children in these church communities. I connect with evangelists who are ready to train children, serve on children’s mission trips, lead outreaches and trips focused on child evangelism and lead teams into new communities that need to hear the Gospel.
What drew you to GCO?
Before Gospel Colors, I had always known the meaning of the Gospel in my own life, but never felt confident enough to share the Gospel with others. What drew me to GCO’s ministry was the easy and straightforward presentation and a sincere interest in helping me become an evangelist. I never thought I had the gift of evangelism, but after participating in the training with GCO, my eyes were opened and I became a new person by the power of the Gospel. After that, I was hooked.
What was your first mission trip/Gospel experience with GCO?
Before my first mission trip to Mexico, I attended the training twice. The first time I memorized the presentation and scriptures in English, and the second time I learned everything in Spanish. Since extra interpreters were needed, I became one of the primary interpreters on the trip. I was so nervous. I practiced, practiced, and practiced. There were things I had memorized in the Spanish presentation that I couldn’t translate into English, but I figured, “as long as they know what it means, that’s all that matters.” The weekend of the mission trip I got to see how big God really is. Though there were times I did not understand the Spanish speakers because my Spanish was still weak, many people came to know Christ. I learned it wasn’t anything I said that convicted hearts, but it was God’s word that did all the work. From that weekend on, I knew if I would just be willing to open my mouth and speak God’s truth, He would do the rest.
What are you most passionate about in GCO?
My greatest passion is leading children into a relationship with Christ and training them to share the Gospel. Children are amazing people. Their faith and boldness in the Lord is so strong. Watching and helping them grow in Jesus is the most rewarding thing in life.

“GCO takes the message of God’s salvation to the streets to share hope for people in need of his love and grace. Experiencing hundreds of men, women and children accepting Christ is the most beautiful work God has given us with the privilege to do. Every Christian should be encouraged to learn the simple presentation and join in the work of this worthy ministry.” -Bonita
“My daughter, Krysta, and I had the opportunity to evangelize with GCO in a park in Oceanside. We got to share the Gospel with people we didn’t know for the first time. People flocked to our table wanting to hear about who Jesus is. It was a day we will remember into eternity!” -Lara
“My constant prayer for my children is that they will take their place in this world to win their generation for Christ. The training from the Gospel Colors class and the park outreach equipped my ten-year old daughter to do what many adults have never done — to clearly share her faith and lead someone to Christ!” -Cynthia
“So glad my daughter had the opportunity to build such confidence in sharing the good news. I love the fact that she now LOVES sharing the gospel and will do so to anyone who will listen. What a great skill to have at such a young age. Thank you.” -Jenn
